Liquid fluidity and technique
The perfect dialogue between artistic and technical expression has allowed the artist to recreate this effect thanks to glass fusing. It consists in assembling pieces of glass and crystals, adding enamels and oxides to obtain certain polychromies. These are then melted at high temperatures and cooled slowly using gravity. Here the balance of all these processes is the tool with which Daniela creates the effect of fluidity, returning what happens in nature in a poetic and unique way, because it is also this that “serves” beauty: to illuminate the soul and to excite the viewer.
Multi-dimensional effect and glass fusion
The artistic idea is obtained through a precise technique that aims to return these perceptive effects with all that they express, that is the value of beauty, elegance and natural laws. These works are based on a mobility / immobility effect. Thanks to this continuous visual contrast, therefore, a situation of perceptive tension is created which makes us imagine the “sense of movement”, despite the fact that it is an immobile object.
The tension (perceptive) of movement and fluidity is given by the vertical lines that “fall” downwards and lead back to the tentacles of the jellyfish.
Another important element is time. If the sculpture by Daniela Forti expresses the sense of movement and at the same time immobility, then it also represents the temporal dimension related to movement, but also to the static and the relationship between the two.
The sculpture in fact does not transmit the movement “frozen” or blocked, but that seems to perpetuate or spring. Consequently also the time is represented as if it flowed slowly. This is because the temporal dimension is implicit in movement and space, as an expression of existence.
